FAQ: Frequently asked questions
About Apprenticeship and Education
Parents and teachers play an important role in career choices and are often the first people young people turn to with questions about vocational training and planning for the future. Here you’ll find helpful tips and answers to support you in guiding young people on their path to vocational training.
THE RIGHT QUALIFIED JOB
Your child or students should take every opportunity to learn about different careers. By asking questions of the people around them—such as parents, neighbors, and friends—young people can best get a sense of what different jobs entail. Also take advantage of opportunities to get to know training companies better in advance. Encourage visits to open houses, career fairs, or information days at colleges and universities. Internships are also great opportunities to get to know a company better.
Murrelektronik offers your child or students optimal professional and personal support. Your child or students will be integrated into a team of trainees from the very beginning, which makes it easier for them to settle into the company. Murrelektronik is a medium-sized family-owned business with an excellent work environment. Trainers and colleagues are happy to assist your child or students with any questions or problems.
The retention rate at Murrelektronik is 100%—we train with the intention of hiring.
The application process
The best time is roughly a year before the start of the apprenticeship – so the summer before the year ahead.
- An informative cover letter stating which apprenticeship you are applying for and a brief explanation of why you have chosen this job and why you have opted for Murrelektronik
- A CV in table form, with personal details, your education to date, any other apprenticeships, work placements etc., hobbies, voluntary activities
- Optional photo
- Your last two school reports
- If available, work placement certificates
Once we have received the application, we will send a confirmation of receipt to your child/students.
If we are impressed by the application materials, we will invite your child/student to take an online test, which must be completed within 14 days. The test is purely a knowledge assessment (not a personality test) and primarily covers general knowledge, mathematics, German, and English.
Once the entrance test has been successfully passed, we will invite them to an interview. The focus of the interview is on getting to know each other and discussing skills and qualifications. We also want to understand why your child/student chose this career path and whether they are a good personal fit for us.
After the interview, we will contact you to share our decision.
We offer various opportunities to get to know Murrelektronik better before your training begins:

- Trainee Trip Before Training Begins: Prospective trainees are invited to participate in our trainee outing before their training begins. This allows them to get to know the other trainees and instructors early on.
- Math Prep Course (for dual-track students): Dual-track students have the opportunity to take a math prep course at the Duale Hochschule.
