How does uKonn-X Installation work?

Scan

The installer scans a machine-readable code (e.g., on connectors or modules) or identifies the next task. uKonn-X assigns the component to the correct context in the installation plan.

Install (guided)

uKonn-X shows the intended connections and next steps visually – in the digital schematic and, depending on data availability, also in topology/3D. This applies not only to individual connectors, but also to pre-assembled units and devices.

Confirm & document

After correct execution, the step is confirmed on the device. This automatically creates:

  • traceable installation progress
  • digital as-built documentation
  • optional structured feedback in case of deviations/changes

What is the current scope of uKonn-X Installation?

uKonn-X Installation is the application for installation work close to commissioning – directly at the point of work. The focus is on:

  • Guided installation along a digital installation plan
  • Identification via scan or by selecting the task (components/connections)
  • Task confirmation and automatic documentation (paperless)
  • Change and comment feedback to engineering/design
  • Transparency on progress and open points across teams/shifts

Core capabilities

The current installation step is presented clearly. After identifying a component, the matching complementary instruction is shown – reducing mix-ups.

Components can be recognized via existing codes. If needed, retroactive marking (retrofit/labeling) is also possible so installations can be referenced unambiguously.

Deviations can be captured directly, commented on, and communicated to the responsible stakeholders. The result is a reliable as-built baseline.

Switching between schematic, topology, and – if available – 3D models and photos helps installers reach the correct connection point faster and provides an overall view.

Usable on common end devices and integrable with external hardware such as mobile scanners (and, depending on setup, additional test/support tools).
