Murrelektronik and montratec Join Forces for Flexible Intralogistics Solutions
Murrelektronik Automation Technology Networks montrac® Transport Systems
Murrelektronik and montratec are strengthening their collaboration to develop innovative solutions for modern intralogistics and production environments. At the heart of this partnership is the intelligent integration of flexible transport systems with powerful decentralized automation technology.
Murrelektronik contributes its expertise in decentralized installation concepts, industrial communication, and seamless data connectivity. The focus extends beyond traditional sensor-actuator connectivity to include a scalable automation architecture directly in the field. Technologies such as IO-Link Daisy Chain reduce cabling requirements, enable more compact installations, and simplify future system expansions.
This approach is complemented by Murrelektronik networking technologies. With Xelity Wave Pro, industrial communication infrastructures can be implemented in a flexible, robust, and future-proof manner—from reliable Ethernet communication to wireless real-time applications. This creates new levels of freedom for layout design, scalability, and retrofit projects, particularly in dynamic material handling and production environments. Designed specifically for field-level applications, the wireless technology enables the transmission of Ethernet-based protocols and supports, among others, PROFINET including PROFIsafe, EtherNet/IP including CIP Safety, as well as OPC UA and MQTT. With 0 ms roaming, deterministic latency, and an IP65-rated design, it provides the foundation for uninterrupted communication, even in demanding industrial environments.
The montrac® transport system from montratec stands for highly flexible and future-oriented conveyor technology. Thanks to its modular design and user-friendly system architecture, material flows can be individually configured, precisely controlled, and easily scaled at any time. A key success factor is the system’s consistently implemented modularity. Installations can be expanded, modified, or adapted to new requirements with minimal effort and without extensive intervention in existing structures. This principle also extends to the control level through the use of the modular Vario-X automation platform from Murrelektronik.
The decentralized architecture significantly reduces engineering, installation, and commissioning efforts while enabling flexible, scalable system concepts that can be implemented more quickly and adapted efficiently to changing production requirements. “Through this co-creation approach, we are bringing conveyor technology and automation together in a consistent way, reducing complexity in the field and creating a flexible, scalable foundation for modern intralogistics solutions,” says Dr. Ulrich Viethen, CEO of Murrelektronik. Sven Worm, Vice President New Markets at montratec, adds: “Our strength lies in highly flexible conveyor technology that can be precisely adapted to a wide range of material flow requirements. Combined with Murrelektronik technology, this results in solutions that are particularly easy to integrate and provide users with greater flexibility in layout design, scalability, and the efficient operation of their intralogistics systems.”
This collaboration underlines the commitment of Murrelektronik to developing connected and scalable solutions for industrial automation together with strong partners.
